    Thanks for the info - I'll also look into Aeon. I'm curious ~ have you or anyone who reads this have had any experience with duel head lasers? I'm eyeing the OMTech 130W Dual Laser ZF3551. Probably more than what I need to cut 1/4 to 1/2" card board but I want something as fast and efficient as possible. Even if Aeon is superior machine I cant imagine it being more efficient than a 2 head laser system. Maybe i'm wrong but curious on your thoughts? I'm also looking at the Monport 150W - pretty slick machine but heard mixed reviews on customer service. Wondering if anyone has experience with them?

      I am not one for slamming other manufactures. Honesty I do not any experience with a dual head laser. I have heard the same industry grumblings about that other company. I strongly suggest that you look into the Aeon Redline it has some features like easy access to all components, the easiest mirror and lens cleaning system, a closed system box and more and more. I love my Aeon but that does not make it the best for your job application. If I can help you in any way e mail me at g.kenner@yahoo.com Cheers and happy lasering!

    Novice here, so I may have missed when you covered what I'm about to ask, so here goes...background: We currently have a whole house water softener that has a cleaning cycle, but it dumps salt water into our yard and we don't like what that does to the environment around us. We're looking for a replacement whole house softener system that doesn't do that. Q1: Is the equipment you described (it appears you're talking about an AO Smith device) in this video salt based, and Q2: does it have a cleaning cycle that needs to have water expelled? Follow-up Q: If it's a salt-based system, is there one that doesn't need to expel salt water as part of it going through some type of cleaning cycle?

      I am sure there is not a lot of Platinum in it but here is the answer. "Platinum cure" refers to a type of silicone rubber that is cured using a platinum-based catalyst. This is in contrast to other curing methods, such as tin-based (or condensation cure) systems. CURE means harden. Come into Laser Freedom there are a lot of people in there smarter than me.

    I would like to add....Two things that seem to be left out of this explanation that are very important for the viewers to know. The wattage of each machine type (Glass and RF) is not apple to apple. More specifically, a 100 watt Glass tube is not the same as a 100 watt RF tube. It would be more like a 100 watt glass tube has similar power to a 55 watt RF tube. That is very important for buyers to know as they may look at a RF machine and see 50 watt and a glass tube being 100 watt and think that the RF tube is underpowered. That is not the case so know how the tube power would compare to a different technology tube power. Secondly and very important, the beam size of the RF tube is much much smaller than a glass tube so the quality of the engrave will be far superior over a glass tube. I hope that you don't mind WHICH IS MORE PRECISE? Whether you’re etching or engraving, precision is paramount. Precision and pulse rate are directly related. The higher the pulse rate, the more precise the beam. To get a higher pulse rate, the laser gathers the heat and then rapidly releases it, meaning it’s not heated continuously. When it comes to direct current, there is no room for that rapid gather-release process, because direct current is continuous. This means pulses from glass tubes are less frequent. Therefore, a glass CO2 laser engraver is more limited in pulse rate and tends to execute lower-quality engravings than its metal counterpart. HOW DO THEY CUT? When it comes to cutting, the material usually dictates the power settings. If you’re working with materials such as plastic or paper, then the minimum you need is about 30W at about 20% for engraving. Some may favor glass tubes because they work well in lower power settings. Metal laser beams do create more refined work, but they tend to leave slightly rougher edges that are imperceptible to customers and can be smoothed easily.

      Alisha thank you very much for the more lengthy comment. As I started in the hobby / Industry I found that some of the basic vocabulary was missing. That is why I did this video to go only to the basics. I agree with everything that you said but it is not basic it is more like the next step of information and that a Laser Sales Professional would supply. Opening the door to beginners is what I am trying to achieve. That is why I put this in my Lasers for Dummies play list. This is a starting point. For those of you who do not know Alisha Pate she is on Facebook and UA-cam also, and is a respected name in the laser industry, she is worth getting to know and follow.

I am just about to buy a Xtool S1 40w / 2w IR (deluxe kit), it appears to meet my needs and is quite a safe machine. Do you think it could achieve similar results?

    At 5,000 mm per minute you don’t save much time. It actually takes more time because of the extra distance the head has to travel when it changes direction.

      Well, you neglected the acceleration speed, the machine Acceleration speed is 8G. The over scan will not add a lot but the speed will make the job shorter. Of course, there will be a limit to increase speed, but we are set to reach its limit.

    • @GeorgeKennerLaser
      @GeorgeKennerLaser 2 місяці тому

      Speed is an issue that is frequently addressed by the engineers... BUT I look at it differently. Instead of focusing on manufacture claims "RUN" the engraving file on the machines you are considering and see if one is faster than the other... I did exactly this in a comparison review the machine I purchased the Mira 7 won. Thank you for your comment.

    I bought a xtool D1 20 watt in November of 2021. It paid for itself in a month. By Jan of 2022 I bought a 100watt c02(paid for itself in 4 months), 2023 a 50w dedicated to tumblers and just purchased a 60 watt fiber laser and these are all running while I'm making furniture for my business. They are amazing and very addictive. I have a CNC which is awesome as well but the lasers are much easier to use and I find myself running them a lot more. But all of this happened because of my little watt xTool and some hustle. Highly recommended to get an xTool D1for an entry level to see if you want to move up.
